Up for grabs is an extremely attractive example of the popular Rolex “Red Sub” Submariner, Reference 1680. Bearing a serial of 3.1 million, this watch dates the watch to 1971, and has a “feet first” “MK4” dial.
This Rolex “Red” Sub is in amazing vintage condition. The case shows thick and even lugs, with original beveled edges still visible, and does not appear to have been polished. The dial is beautiful, with no chips, scratches, marks, etc. The original tritium lume is still present on the dial, aged to a nice and vibrant “pumpkin” color; the hands have been professionally color-matched to the dial. The watch comes on a Rolex folded-link 9315 bracelet with 380 endlinks, and has 11 full links with no stretch.
