SOLD
Description
Up for grabs is a lovely and early example of the popular “Root Beer” Rolex GMT-Master, in two-tone steel and 18kt yellow gold, circa 1978. This example features the so-called “nipple” dial, due to the smaller hour markers, and is applied on a maroon-brown iridescent “sunburst” dial. This Rolex GMT-Master is in great condition. The case appears unpolished, with nice original beveled edges, and honest wear from us. The dial is gorgeous, with no wear whatsoever. The original tritium lume is present on both dial and hands, aged to a beautiful yellow color. Further, the original bezel insert has aged and developed a beautiful and even fade. The watch comes fitted on a newer-style Rolex Swiss 62523H Jubilee Two-Tone band (with 455B endlinks), with very light stretch.
