Description
Up for grabs is an exceptional and rare Rolex Turn-O-Graph, reference 6202, circa 1953. The Turn-O-Graph has achieved legendary status in the vintage Rolex world as the pre-cursor to the mighty Submariner, and the first watch to feature a rotating bezel by the brand. Clearly the design influence for the Submariner, the Turn-O-Graph was produced with a similar waterproof case for diving, and made in a smaller size, coming in at 36mm. This particular Turn-O-Graph is a rare variant, produced in two-tone steel and gold, fitted with a white honeycomb dial and applied gold markers.
This particular Rolex Turn-O-Graph is in excellent vintage condition. The case appears unpolished, with normal wear, still reading “Modele Depose” on the caseback. The dial is very well-preserved, with no chips or scratches, aged to a lovely cream color. The original “red triangle” bezel insert is in nice condition, showing minor wear from use.
The watch is fitted on a later Rolex rivet 7206 bracelet with 58 endlinks, dated to 1964, with 11 full links and light stretch. Please Note: this bracelet was modified to two-tone, as this bracelet never originally came in two-tone; while not original, it is very cool!
