Rolex “Tiger’s Eye 18038 Qaboos” Day-Date

Up for grabs is a very rare Rolex Day-Date, reference 18038 in 18kt yellow gold, circa 1985.  This Day-Date in particular is very special for two reasons: 1) the dial was originally fitted with an uncommon “Tiger’s Eye” stone dial, and 2) it was printed with the signature of Sultan Qaboos Bin Said, the former ruler of Oman.  These “Qaboos” signed watches were ordered by the then-Sultan to be given out as gifts.

This rare Rolex Day-Date is in good vintage condition.  The case has been polished/worn in the past, and shows some wear from use, but has thick and even lugs, overall well-preserved.  The dial is free from any cracks, and in great condition.  The original Roles Swiss hidden-clasp presidential clasp shows some stretch, and has 4 removable screws, fiting an approximate 7″ wrist.
