Description
Up for grabs is an attractive example of the popular Rolex “Red Sub” Submariner, Reference 1680. Bearing a serial of 2.7 million, this watch dates the watch to 1970, and has an “MK4” dial.
The watch itself is in great condition. The case shows thick and even lugs, with original beveled edges still visible, polished sparingly in the past. The dial is beautiful, with no chips, scratches, marks, etc. The original tritium lume is still present in the dial, aged to a nice creamy, yellow color; the hands have been professionally color matched to the dial. The “fat font” bezel insert is attractive, with no wear.
The watch comes fitted on a Rolex flip-lock 9315 bracelet, with 385 endlinks, and is dated 3rd quarter of 1972. The bracelet has 11 full links, and light stretch.
