Description
Up for grabs is a very special and rare watch – a Rolex Submariner, Reference 5512, circa 1978, with a Maxi Mark 3 (MK3) dial. The “maxi” dial 5512s were produced for a very short window in the late 1970s, and have become a very difficult watch to track down.
The watch itself is in great vintage condition. The case has been previously polished, but retains thick and even. The dial is excellent, with no flaws. The original tritium lume is present on both dial and hands, aged to a lovely and bright yellow color. Further, the watch retains its period-correct bezel insert, with no flaws. The watch comes fitted on a Rolex Oyster 93150 flip-lock bracelet with 580 endlinks; the bracelet has 11 full links with light stretch.
