Up for grabs is a very beautiful example of a Rolex GMT-Master with a glossy gilt dial, circa 1965-66 (1.3m serial), reference 1675, that we have seen in quite some time. This example is the last gilt dial Rolex produced before transitioning to the matte dial in/around 1967.
This Rolex GMT-Master is in great vintage condition. The case has been professionally polished in the past, mimicking factory original beveled edges with a thick and even case. The dial is beautiful – still very glossy, with a mirror-like finish, and virtually no visble wear. The original tritium lume is present on both dial and hands, aged to a golden yellow color. The original and period-correct fat-font “Pepsi” bezel insert is in nice condition, with a nice fade set in to the colors. Further, the watch comes equipped on a Rolex Swiss Rivet 7206 bracelet, with 80 endlinks, dated to 1969, and has 12 full links, with no stretch (the bracelet appears to have been restored to factory tightness in the past).
