SOLD
Description
Offered here is a beautiful example of a Reference 1675, Rolex “GMT-Master”, with an MK3 (third execution) dial, the so-called “radial” dial. These dials are unique due to their placement of the lume plots further in the dial towards the hands, as opposed to the traditional layout, which has the plots placed near the hash marks around the edges of the dial. The radial dial can only be found within a certain serial range, and is very uncommon. The serial of this GMT-Master is 39xxxxx, dating this watch to 1973-74. Additionally, this watch comes complete, with its original inner and outer Rolex boxes, “punched” Warranty Certificate, original sales receipt (dating the original sale to 1977 in Venezuela for 2000 Bolivares), and GMT-Master booklets. and Rolex pamphlets.
The watch itself is in great vintage condition. The case appears unpolished (or if it was ever polished, it was done very lightly), with thick and even lugs, and clearly defined bevels, showing normal wear/aging from use. The dial is in great condition, with no major flaws, but does have light dots/pitting on the dial, which nearly all radial/MK3 dial configuration watches have, likely due to a flaw in the paint used by Rolex (and presumably why they were produced for such a short period of time). The original tritium lume is still present on both dial and hands, aged to a gorgeous yellow/pumpkin color. The original “Pepsi” bezel insert is likewise in great condition, with a light fade.
The watch comes fitted on a Rolex Oyster 78360/593 bracelet, with 12 full links and light stretch.
