Rolex “Full-Set 16800” Submariner

Offered here is an incredibly beautiful example of the so-called “transitional” Submariner, the Reference 16800, which was Rolex’s follow-up to the Reference 1680.  The 16800 introduced the quick-set function to the Submariner and featured their new Caliber 3035 movement.

The present example dates to 1986, and is in great vintage condition.  The case appears lightly polished but sharp, with original beveled edges, with normal aging from use, and the caseback still retains its original caseback sticker.  The dial is nice and glossy, with normal aging around the white gold surrounds as is common on these dials. The original tritium lume is present on dial, aged to a lovely vibrant yellow/orange color, with original hands, remaining a few shades lighter than the dial.

Finally, the watch comes complete with its original Rolex box and “punched” Guarantee Certificate” as pictured.
