Up for grabs is an exceptionally rare Rolex Oyster, Ref. 6426. The reference 6426 Rolex in-and-of itself is not unique; however, the dial fitted with it is! This example, circa 1961-1962, was fitted with a honeycomb, two-tone “Explorer” dial, with 3-6-9 markers. Fitted in a 34mm, manual wind case, this watch seamlessly combines classic elegance, with a touch of sport.
The watch itself is in great vintage condition. The case has been polished in the past, but the lugs are thick and even, not overpolished. The dial has aged to a lovely cream color, distinct from its original white color. The original radium lume is present on both dial and hands, aged to a striking orange color.
The watch comes fitted on a Rolex USA Jubilee bracelet, with light stretch.
