Description
Offered here is a Rolex Datejust, reference 17000, produced circa 1981, under the “Oysterquartz” line, made in stainless steel. These quartz watches were produced in the 1980s during the “quartz crisis”, and have risen in popularity as of late as an interesting footnote in horological history. This particular Rolex Oysterquartz Datejust comes complete with its original Rolex box with an embossed “OysterQuartz” logo.
The watch itself is in great vintage condition. The case has been lightly polished in the past, still retaining visible beveled edges. Further, the watch has a perfect dial, which radiates a purple hue when seen in person, and also maintaining all of its original tritium lume on both dial and hands, which has aged to a golden yellow color. The watch has 12 full-links and no stretch.
