SOLD
Description
Offered here is a Rolex Milgauss, Ref. 1019, circa 1969, with a non-lume “CERN” dial, the first execution dial for the reference, featuring black enamel-filled markers and hands. Introduced in 1956, the Milgauss was designed as Rolex’s answer to magnetism at the workplace, and was made for workers in power plants, scientific fields, and medical fields, where the magnetism of a watch would often be a disrupting problem.
This Rolex Milgauss is in great vintage condition. The case has been previously polished, but the lugs are still beefy and even, with beveled edges. The dial shows a light patina setting in visible at an angle, consistent with the aging of silver sunburst dials.
The watch comes fitted on a 7206 bracelet (stamped 4th quarter ’68) with 80 endlinks, and has 11 links and very minimal stretch.
