Description
Offered here is an uncommon Rolex Precision, called the “Air-King-Date”, bearing a Reference of 5701. This watches were designed as a watch for pilots of the British Royal Airforce during the Battle of Britain, and thereafter were typically sold to the Canadian market. This particular watch dates to 1968 (2.2m serial). This particular example was made in two-tone steel and gold, and fitted with a striking blue “linen”-style, ribbed dial.
The condition of this Air-King-Date is excellent. First, the case is unpolished, with minimal wear. The dial is in beautiful condition, devoid of flaws, chips, etc. The original tritium lume is present on both dial and hands, aged to a golden yellow. Finally, the watch comes equipped on its original Rolex folded-link 7835/19 bracelet, with 257 endlinks, dated to the 2nd quarter of 1971. The bracelet has 13 full links and light stretch.
