SOLD
Description
Offered here is an exceptionally rare and beautiful Rolex Submariner, Ref. 6536-1, with a “thin case” produced for a short time. Introduced in 1955, the 6536/1 is commonly considered a transitional model from Rolex’s earliest executions to the later Big Crown versions. This particular example dates to 1956.
This Rolex “Small Crown” Submariner is in excellent condition. The case is unpolished, with original and prevalent beveled edges. The dial is in great condition, with light wear/aging due to exposure from radium. The original radium lume is present on both dial and hands, aged to a golden orange color, with minor loss in the minute and seconds hand. The bezel insert is in great condition, with no wear.
Further, the watch comes on its original Rolex stretch rivet bracelet, with 58 endlinks, and dated to the 4th quarter of 1957.
