Rolex “5512 PCG 2-Color” Submariner

$65,000.00

1 in stock

Description

Up for grabs is a very rare Rolex Submariner, Ref. 5512, circa 1959.  This particular early Submariner is fitted in a “pointed crown guards” or “PCG” case, which Rolex later changed to a more rounded-off and square crown guard shortly after.  Further, the watch is fitted with a rare and early “chapter ring” and “two color” gilt dial; this dial was only used on the earliest of 5512 Submariners, such as on the early “Square Crown Guard” cases.

The Rolex Submariner offered here is in amazing vintage condition.  The case is thick and even, with original bevels prominent, and unpolished.  The dial is gorgeous – with no chips, scratches or major wear, and very minor crazing to the original lacquer finish. The original lume is present in the dial and hands, aged to a golden yellow color.  The original “fat font” and “long 5” bezel insert is in great condition, with minor wear.

The watch comes fitted on its original Rolex stretch-rivet Swiss Rivet 7206/64 bracelet, dated to 1960, and has 12 full links with no stretch.
