Rolex “16550 Cream Rail Dial” Explorer II

$24,500.00

1 in stock

Description

Up for grabs is an incredible and rare Rolex Explorer II, circa 1986, Reference 16550, with uncommon “rail” dial (meaning the bottom to lines of text line up proportionally), aged to an incredible cream color.  The watch comes with its inner and outer Rolex boxes, Rolex Explorer booklet, and Rolex Service paperwork, showing a recent service.

This Rolex Explorer II is in great vintage condition.  The case was polished, presumably while in service by Rolex. The dial is immaculate, with no marks, scratches, or flaws, and has aged to the most striking cream color we have seen on one of these.  Further, the original tritium lume is present on both dial and hands, aged to a golden yellow color on the dial, and an off-white cream in the hands.  Lastly, the watch comes fitted on its original Rolex Oyster 78360 bracelet, with 501B endlinks, and has 11 full links and no stretch.
