SOLD
Description
Offered here is an Omega Speedmaster, reference 145.012-67 (1967), nicknamed the “Ultraman”. The Ultraman was made in 1967 (2.60m serial) for the Japanese market and appearing in a Japanese sci-fi show “Return of the Ultraman,” and given an orange chronograph hand to match the main character of the show.
This Omega Speedmaster Ultraman remains in great vintage condition. The case remains unpolished and sharp, with clearly defined original beveled edges. Further, the dial remains pristine, with no blemishes, scractches, etc. The original tritium lume remains on both dial and hands, aged to a nice yellow color with some minor loss to a few of the markers on the dial, as is common on these Pre-Moon twisted lug references. Finally, the watch retains its original “DON” (Dot Over Ninety) bezel, showing almost no wear.
Finally, the watch comes fitted on an Omega flat-link 1039 bracelet with 516 endlinks, dating to 1970. The bracelet has virtually no stretch, and will fit an approximate 7.5″ wrist.
