Up for grabs is a nice example of a straight lugs Omega Speedmaster “Ed White”, so called as this was the same model worn by the famous astronaut, Mr. Ed White. This example dates to 1965, with correct serial range for the reference (105.003-65). The watch itself is in excellent vintage condition. The case is unpolished, with original beveled edges still visible. The dial is in near-mint condition, with no marks, chips, or scratches. The lume on the dial has aged to a nice yellow color, and a little darker brown in the hands, with very light lume loss to the hour hands (common for this model). The original “DON” (Dot Over Ninety) bezel is in excellent condition, with almost no wear. Further, the watch comes on its original Omega folded-link 7912 bracelet, dated to the 2nd quarter of 1966, with correct “6” endlinks. Finally, the crystal is the original Omega-signed crystal, and can be replaced upon request.
