SOLD
Description
Offered here is a beautiful example of an Omega Speedmaster, of the so-called “Pre-Moon” models, Reference 145.022-69, circa 1969, with a correct serial range for this reference. The -69 is the last of the Pre-Moons (before the Moon launch), and the first Speedmaster with a painted Omega logo. In addition, a very small sampling of these late 60s Pre-Moon dials — usually within the 145.022-69 production run — have aged to a nice brown or “tropical” color.
This Omega Speedmaster is in great vintage condition. The case has been lightly polished, but retains its original beveled edges and twisted-lugs curvature. The dial is beautiful, with no scratches or marks, and has aged to a nice “tropical” dark brown color, which really shines through in the sun. The original tritium lume is still present in both hands and dial, aged to a nice yellow color. The original crystal is still present, signed with the Omega logo in the center. Further, the original and correct “DON” (Dot Over Ninety) bezel is in good condition, with only light wear visible.
