Audemars Piguet “Two-Tone Sapphire” Dress Watch

Offered here for sale is one of the most interesting and rare Audemars Piguet watches we have ever had the pleasure to list! This is a dress watch produced circa 1950s by AP, and housed in 18kt yellow gold case, with a white gold bezel that is set with sapphires.  Interestingly enough, we recently sat down with industry legend, Massimo Barraca, during a recent YouTube video, who owns the sister Patek Philippe watch to this AP, produced in a very similar fashion with rubies instead of sapphires.  According to him, this model was on the cover of all advertisements during the Swiss Expos at the time.  You can watch that video here: The BEST Vintage Watches In Miami!

This Audemars Piguet remains in excellent vintage condition. The case surprisingly remains unpolished, with very crisp and defined hallmarks still visible.  Further, the dial remains unrestored, with light aging seen throughout, overall extremely well-preserved.  The watch is fit on a vintage Audemars Piguet suede black strap, and comes with matching yellow gold AP tang buckle.
