Description
Up for grabs is a special Benrus Type I, created in the 1970s under strict specification for military watches by the US Department of Defense. Such specifications included an ultra robust watch, which remained highly legible at all times, water resistant to 1200 feet, and completely sterile. Benrus won the contract, and the Type 1s were used by a litany of personnel, ranging from US Navy Seals, Underwater Demolition Teams (UDTs), Army Rangers and even Special Forces. This particular Benrus Type 1 remains in great vintage condition, remaining unpolished and sharp, and a completely in-tact bakelite rotating bezel. Further, the original dial and luminous shows virtually no wear, overall very well-preserved.
