Description
This Wakmann chronograph, nicknamed the “Big Boy”, for its large 42mm case, shares the same chronograph case style as other popular chronographs, such as the LeCoultre Shark and the Heuer 2446 Autavia. This example is exceedingly uncommon, as it is housed in a stainless steel case, where most examples of this model were produced in chrome-plated cases. Further, this Wakmann chronograph is powered by the Lemania 1872 movement, where the chrome models usually utilize a Landeron movement.
The Wakmann Big Boy is in mint condition. The steel case appears unpolished, and the beveled edges on the lugs are still present. The black dial is near perfect, with only minor blemishing in the white areas of the subdials. The original lume is fully intact in both the hands and dial, and has aged to a lovely cream patina color.
