Universal Geneve “Nina Rindt” Compax

SOLD

Description

Up for grabs is a great example of the immensely popular Universal Geneve Compax, the so-called “Nina Rindt”, due to the famous model (and wife to racecar driver Jochen Rindt) being photographed wearing this reference.  This example is a 1st execution, with an applied Universal Geneve logo.

This Universal Geneve “Nina Rindt” is in excellent condition.  The case is unpolished and blemish free.  The dial is mint, with no visible wear The original tritium lume is still present in the hands, aged to a nice yellow patina in the hands, and a darker brown on the dial.  The serial and reference numbers are visible and clear on the caseback.  The bezel is very clean, with only minor wear, and has a faded appearance.  The crown appears to be a later UG replacement.

The watch comes equipped on an original UG steel Gay Freres bracelet, dated to the 1st quarter of 1967, with correct UW endlinks.
