SOLD
Description
Offered here is a stunning example of a rare Universal Geneve Tri-Compax, circa 1950s. This particular example, bearing the reference 22297-2, is housed in a 35mm steel waterproof screwback case, and fitted with mini “Spillino” pushers; further, the watch is fitted with a lovely “linen” dial. These watches were some of the most complicated and advanced wristwatches for their time.
This Universal Geneve Tri-Compax is in very well-preserved condition. The case has possibly been lightly polished in the past, but retains thick and even lugs, and in very nice shape; the reference and serial numbers are crisp and visible on the outside of the caseback. The silver linen dial is one of the best we’ve ever come across, absolutely mint.
The watch comes fitted on a Universal Geneve signed leather strap and steel buckle, albeit from a later era.
