Description
Up for grabs is a Tudor “Snowflake” Submariner, circa 1976 (845xxx serial). Tudor is better known as the “sister” brand to Rolex – originally formed as a more affordable alternative to that of a Rolex. In recent years, Tudor has exploded in popularity amongst collectors, with prices often eclipsing those of their Rolex counterparts. This example is a highly sought-after “Snowflake” Submariner, so-called for the snowflake-like appearance of the hour hand. The dial and bezel both have a beautiful and rich blue color, a trait that makes this particular model very desirable.
This Tudor Submariner is in great vintage condition. The case has been previously polished, but the lugs are thick and even, with original bevels still visible. The dial is immaculate, with no flaws or bubbling in sight, and aged to a royal blue color. The original tritium lume is present in both hands and dial, aging to a golden yellow, with only one very minor crack in the hour hand.
The watch comes with a folded link 7836 bracelet with 258 endlinks, with 12 links, with medium stretch.
