Description
Up for grabs is a rare Tudor “Big Block Monte Carlo” chronograph, circa 1977. Tudor’s first Big Block watches were the 9400 series; the Reference 9420 is the only reference to be fitted with an acrylic tachymeter bezel. This example also features a so-called “exotic” dial, which is black with orange accents.
The condition of this Tudor Big Block Monte Carlo is excellent. The case appears unpolished, with sharp lines and original beveled edges. The dial is in mint condition, with no wear or marks. Further, the original tritium lume is still all-present on both dial and hands, aged to a golden yellow. Finally, the watch is fitted on its original Rolex Oyster 78360 bracelet, with 605 endlinks, and has 12 full links and no stretch.
