Description
Up for grabs is an extremely rare Tissot chronograph, circa 1930-1940s, likely designed for military application. Fitted in an oversized, 37mm steel case, this Tissot features a very uncommon and beautiful black snail dial, with huge and radium-filled markers.
This Tissot is in excellent vintage condition. The case appears unpolished; the bezel shows light wear, with one minor ding near the crown. The black dial is incredibly well preserved, with only one minor mark near the 4 o’clock marker, only visible with a loupe. The original radium markers are still present, reading very strongly on a geiger counter, with slight loss mainly in the 4 o’clock marker. The hands are likely a very old relume, glowing a couple seconds longer than the dial under a UV light.
