Offered here is a very attractive and tropical Omega Speedmaster “Pre-Moon” chronograph from 1969. The watch features a very brown or “tropical” dial, correct “DON” bezel, with a serial of 2911xxxx, which is the correct range for this watch.
This Omega Speedmaster is in great vintage condition. The case does not show signs of overpolishing, with thick and even twisted lugs. The dial has turned brown/tropical, due to exposure to the sun and elements, and only has one very minor mark at the edge of the dial by the 3 o’clock marker. The original lume is present on the dial and hands, aging to a yellow patina on the dial, and a darker brown in the hands. The lume is no longer present in the chrono hand.
The caseback has a very light engraving of presumably the initial owner’s name.
