Description
Up for grabs is a striking and very rare Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, reference 14790SA in two-tone 18kt gold and steel, circa 1980s. Coming in at 37mm, these watches have soared in popularity, mimicking the appearance of their larger “jumbo” counterparts, only slightly smaller, and for a fraction of the price. This particular watch is an early iteration of the 14790, with the earlier small font-style, and fitted with a very rare grey factory diamond-set dial. Further, this Audemars Piguet Royal Oak remains in great vintage condition, with a strong case with nicely beveled edges, and perfect dial, showing a light patina setting in. The bracelet shows some stretch, particularly on the bottom side, and will fit an approximate 7″ wrist, with 4 removable links (18 links total).
