Description
Up for grabs a beautiful example of a gilt-dial Rolex Explorer, Ref. 1016, with gilt dial. This example dates to 1964, with a serial of 1.1m. The case has been lightly polished, with thick and even lugs. The gilt dial is in great vintage condition, still very glossy and attractive, aged to a nice brown, tropical color. The lume is all-present on both dial and hands, aged to a gorgeous golden yellow color; the hands, while tritium, are not zinc sulfide hands, likely fit in the 70s during a service. Lastly, the watch comes fitted on a Rolex rivet 7206 bracelet, with 80 endlinks, and is dated to 1965; the bracelet has 12 full links and no stretch.
