Rolex “Tropical 1675 Gilt” GMT-Master

$90,000.00

1 in stock

Description

Offered here is a very rare and extraordinarily beautiful (maybe the nicest we have had) Rolex GMT-Master, circa 1961.  This early GMT-Master is fitted with a rare “chapter ring” gilt dial in an early “PCG” (Pointed Crown Guards) case, and is the first of the GMT-Masters following the Reference 6542 (the very first reference GMT-Master).

This early GMT-Master is in amazing vintage condition.  The case is unpolished, with incredibly sharp lugs and clearly defined original beveled edges. The dial is still extremely glossy and very attractive, and the dial has aged to a downright stunning golden brown/caramel “tropical” color – even better than it looks in these pictures (it is very hard to photograph indoors, e-mail us for some normal iPhone pictures to see the beautiful dial color more vividly!). The original lume is present on both dial and hands, aged to a pale yellow.  Finally, the original “fat font” bezel is in beautiful condition, aged to an incredible faded blue and orange color.

The watch comes fitted on its original Rolex Swiss 7206 bracelet with 80 endlinks, dating to 1961, and has 11 full links with no stretch.

This GMT is a true trophy watch, and they do not come around very often as exceptional as this!
