Go To ShopRolex “Transitional” Submariner
SOLD
Description
Offered here is a great example of the so-called “transitional” Submariner, the Reference 16800, which was Rolex’s follow-up to the Reference 1680. The 16800 introduced the quick-set function to the Submariner and featured their new Caliber 3035 movement. The present example dates to 1982, and is in great vintage condition. The case has been professionally restored to recreate the factory beveled edges. The dial is pristine, with not a blemish in sight. The original tritium lume is present on both hands and dial, aged to a nice yellow color. The bezel has aged to a blue hue, and is very attractive.
