Up for grabs is an attractive example of the popular Rolex “Red Sub” Submariner, Reference 1680. Bearing a serial of 2.9 million, this watch dates the watch to 1970, and has an “MK4” dial.
The watch itself is in great condition. The case shows thick and even lugs, with original beveled edges still visible, polished sparingly in the past. The dial is beautiful, with no chips, scratches, marks, etc. The original tritium lume is still present in the dial and hands, aged to a nice creamy, yellow color. The “fat font” bezel insert is attractive, with no wear, and has aged to a nice blue hue.
