Rolex “MK1 Fuscia” GMT-Master

SOLD

Description

Offered here is a beautiful example of a Reference 1675, Rolex “GMT-Master”, with a Mark 1 “Long E” dial, the first GMT-Master that Rolex produced with a “matte” dial.  This is a one-owner watch, and remains as-found since leaving the factory in 1967 (with the exception of the crystal). The serial of this GMT-Master is 16xxxxx, dating this watch to 1967, the earliest serial range of the matte GMTs.  As these were transitional from the gilt-dial GMTs, the earliest of them sometimes have the same “mini”-GMT hand.  The case has been lightly polished, but with thick and even lugs, and original beveled edges still present.  The dial is devoid of any chips, scratches, or flaws, and is in beautiful condition.  The original tritium lume is still present on both dial and hands, aged to a golden yellow color. The original “Pepsi” bezel insert has aged to a highly desirable fuscia color, and is in near-mint condition. The watch comes equipped on its original Swiss rivet 7206/80 bracelet, dated to the 4th quarter of 1967, and has 11 full links with light stretch.
