SOLD
Description
Up for grabs is a lovely “meters first” Rolex Submariner Ref. 5513, circa 1967 (1.7m serial). The “meters first” dials were the very first Rolex Submariner models to feature a “matte” dial, and are considered transitional from gilt to matte, with a limited production of around 3-4 years. This Rolex Submariner is in great condition. The case has been previously polished, but the lugs remain thick and even, with beautifully beveled edges. The dial is flawless, with no chips, scratches, tool marks, etc. The original tritium lume is present on the dial, aged to a striking and vibrant yellow color; the hands have been professionally color-matched to the dial. The original fat font and “Long 5” insert is in good condition with light wear.
Lastly, this Submariner comes on its original Rolex USA Jubilee bracelet, with 555 endlinks, and normal stretch for a Jubilee; the clasp has been engraved with a past owner’s initials.
