SOLD
Description
Up for grabs is a lovely “meters first” Rolex Submariner Ref. 5513, with a “ghost bezel”, circa 1967. The “meters first” dials were the very first Rolex Submariner models to feature a “matte” dial, and are considered transitional from gilt to matte, with a limited production of around 3-4 years. This Rolex Submariner is in great condition. It is an original owner watch, purchased directly from the grandson of the original owner. The case appears unpolished, with normal wear. The dial is flawless, with no chips, scratches, tool marks, etc. The original tritium lume is present on both dial and hands, aged to a golden yellow on the dial, and a darker green in the hands (albeit entirely original). The original fat font and “Long 5” insert is in great condition, and aged to a blue hue.
This Submariner comes with its original American rivet bracelet, dated to the 1st quarter of 1970; it has 10 full links and moderate stretch.
