Up for grabs is an excellent example of the popular Rolex “Red Sub” Submariner, Reference 1680. Bearing a serial of 2.1 million, this watch dates the watch to 1968, and has an “MK1” (first execution) and “Meters First” dial.
The present example is in great vintage condition. The case shows thick and even lugs, and appears modestly polished in the past. The dial is mint, with no flaws, marks or chips. The original tritium lume is still present in both hands and dial, aged to a nice yellow color. The bezel insert is an original and period correct “Long 5”, and has aged to a lovely light grey color.
The watch comes fitted on a Rolex flip-lock 93150 bracelet, with 593 endlinks. The bracelet has 12 full links and has minimal stretch/wear.
