Rolex “Maxi MK3” Submariner

Description

Up for grabs is a stunning example of a Rolex Submariner, Reference 5513, circa 1978 (5.8m serial).  This example features the most desirable 3rd execution (MK3) “Maxi” lollipop dial, denoting the larger size of the lume plots, as compared to the Submariner’s predecessors.  This dial variant is also nicknamed a “lollipop” dial, due to the close proximity of the lume plots and the hash markers, giving them the appearance of a lollipop.

This Rolex Submariner is in great vintage condition.  The case has been professionally recut to mimic the appearance of original factory beveled edges.  The dial is immaculate – not a flaw in sight.  The original tritium lume is present on both dial and hands, aged to a pale yellow color.  The bezel insert is period correct to this reference, and is in good condition, with light wear.

The watch comes equipped with a flip-lock 93150 bracelet with 580 endlinks, and is in good condition with 11 full links and very light stretch.
