Up for grabs is a very rare and stunning Rolex Datejust, Ref. 1601, an 18kt yellow gold wristwatch, dating to 1972-73, and is fitted with a rare “Lapis Lazuli” stone dial. The reference 1601 is the earliest iteration of the Datejust to use stone dials, and are amongst the most coveted by collectors.
The condition of this Rolex Datejust is great. The case is thick and sharp, likely very lightly polished in the past. The Lapis stone dial is in perfect condition, with no cracks or marks. Further, the watch is fit on a Rolex Swiss hidden-clasp Presidential bracelet, with some light stretch from use, and will fit an approximate 7.5″ wrist (6 removable links).
