Offered here is a very rare Rolex Datejust, Reference 16003, circa 1978, with the popular “Buckley” dial, featuring a painted roman numeral layout. The reference 16003 is quite quirky and uncommon, emerging in the mid 1970s, and featuring a smooth bezel, and housed in a two-tone steel and gold case. This particular Rolex Datejust comes with its original Rolex box and “punched” Guaratee Certificate, showing the original date of sale to 1984 in Argentina. This Rolex Datejust example is in amazing vintage condition. The case appears unpolished and sharp. Further, the dial is flawless, with no wear; the original tritium lume is present on the dial and hands, with beautiful and vibrant puffy plots. Finally. the watch is fitted on a Rolex Oyster 78363 two-tone bracelet with 458B endlinks; the bracelet has 11 full links and virtually no stretch.
