Up for grabs is a Rolex Datejust, Reference 16000, circa 1979, fitted with the popular so-called “Buckley” dial, featuring a roman numeral layout, nicknamed after an eccentric and famous Rolex collector/scholar based in the United States. This Rolex Datejust example is in great condition, with a sharp and thick case, seemingly unpolished, and flawless dial; the watch retains its original tritium lume on both dial and hands, aged to a golden yellow, with some loss to the 4 o’clock marker plot. The watch comes fitted on a Rolex Oyster 78360 bracelet with 558 endlinks, with 12 full links and minor stretch.
