Offered here is an exceptionally rare and beautiful Rolex Submariner, Ref. 6536-1, with a “thin case” produced for a short time. Introduced in 1955, the 6536/1 is commonly considered a transitional model from Rolex’s earliest executions to the later Big Crown versions. This particular example dates to 1956.
This Rolex “Small Crown” Submariner is in excellent condition. The case has been lightly polished in the past, but retaining original and prevalent beveled edges. The dial is in great condition, with light patina/aging due to exposure from radium spread evenly across the dial. The original radium lume is present on both dial and hands, aged to a golden orange color. The original “no hash” bezel insert is in great condition, with no wear, a huge rarity in and of itself!
