Rolex “6241 Cherry Red” Daytona

Offered here is a lovely example of Rolex Daytona, Ref. 6241, circa 1967, fitted with an extremely rare “Cherry Red” dial.  Whereas most of the silver Daytona dials of this era had the word “Daytona” printed in black, few examples are known with Daytona printed in red.

The condition of this Daytona is great. The case has been previously polished, but the case retains thick and even lugs. The dial is in beautiful condition, with no major wear, very well-preserved. The original tritium lume is still present on both dial and hands, with no major loss, and aged to a nice yellow color.  Further, the original “MK1” bakelite bezel shows no wear or cracks.

The watch comes on a Rolex Swiss rivet 7025 bracelet, with its original and coveted 71 endlinks, and dating to 1966.  The bracelet itself has 12 full links with light stretch.
