Description
Offered here is a lovely example of Rolex Daytona, Ref. 6239, circa 1967-68, fitted with an exotic dial, nicknamed the “Paul Newman” Daytona, due to the fact that the famous actor favored wearing the Rolex Daytona with the exotic dial, and can be seen in many photographs wearing the watch. This example is outfitted with a tri-color reverse-panda dial and pump pushers.
The condition of this Daytona is great. The case is very strong, with thick and even lugs; if it was ever polished, it was done lightly. The dial is in beautiful condition, with no major wear or scratches, impeccably well-preserved. Likewise, the original tritium lume is still present on both dial and hands, with extremely beautiful and puffy, yellow plots, and no visible loss whatsoever.
The watch comes on its original and rare-in-its-own-right Rolex Swiss folded-link 7836 bracelet with 71N endlinks, and dating to 1967. The bracelet has 12 full links and light stretch, overall well-preserved.
