Rolex "5513 Meters First" Submariner

SOLD

Rolex “5513 Meters First” Submariner

SOLD

Description

Up for grabs is a very well-preserved and attractive “meters first” Rolex Submariner Ref. 5513, circa 1967 (1.6m serial).  The “meters first” dials were the very first Rolex Submariner models to feature a “matte” dial, and are considered transitional from gilt to matte, with a limited production of around 3-4 years.

This Rolex Submariner is in great vintage condition.  The case appears unpolished, with original beveled edges, and showing honest wear from use over the years.  The dial is flawless, with no chips, scratches, tool marks, etc.  The original tritium lume is present on the dial and hands, aged to a nice yellow color. The original fat font and “Long 5” insert is in great condition with virtually no wear, overall extremely well-preserved.

The watch is fitted on a Rolex C&I rivet bracelet with 58 endlinks, dated to 1973, and has 11 full links and virtually no stretch.
