Rolex “5513 Maxi MK2” Submariner

Description

Up for grabs is a beautiful example of a Rolex Submariner, Reference 5513, circa 1978.  This example features a desirable 2nd execution (MK2) “Maxi” dial, denoting the larger size of the lume plots, as compared to the Submariner’s predecessors.

This Rolex Submariner is in very nice vintage condition.  The case has potentially been very lightly polished in the past, with thick and even lugs, and prominent original bevels – if it was ever polished, it was done very lightly. The dial is in great condition, with no major wear, chips or scratches. The original tritium lume is present on both dial and hands, aged to a lovely yellow color. The MK3 bezel insert is period correct to this reference, and is in good condition, with no major wear.  Finally, the watch is fitted on a Rolex Oyster 93150 bracelet, with 580 endlinks and has 10 full links with no stretch.
