Rolex "18039 Bloodstone" Day-Date

SOLD

Rolex “18039 Bloodstone” Day-Date

SOLD

Description

Offered here is an exceptionally rare and beautiful Rolex Day-Date, in 18kt white gold, reference 18039, circa 1989.  This particular Day-Date stands out for its extremely uncommon “Bloodstone” dial, which is very scarcely seen in a white gold case, and more commonly found in yellow gold; in fact, it is alleged that only 6 or 7 examples have been discovered in white gold fitted with a Bloodstone dial.

The condition of this rare Day-Date is great.  The case, while showing some normal wear from use, remains unpolished and thick.  The rare Bloodstone dial does show a few light hairline cracks to the stone, with none of the actual stone chipped off or missing, remaining extremely attractive.  The watch comes fitted on its original Rolex Swiss hidden-clasp white gold bracelet, and will fit an approximate 7″ wrist (5 screws), and showing no stretch.
