In the early 1940s, Omega made these watches, the Ref. 2149, for both civilian and U.S. Army use. To meet military specifications, Omega used robust movements and they were put in heavy steel cases and often featured luminous “eccentric” dials, for visibility.
The watch offered here is a civilian issue, and has a copper dial that has turned tropical. The dial has aged, and shows a patina-brown tropical color. The lume has aged black, and the hour hand has possibly been relumed at some point. The crown is likely a replacement.
