Omega "2914-2" Railmaster

SOLD

Omega “2914-2” Railmaster

SOLD

Description

Offered here is a 2nd iteration of the Omega Railmaster, circa 1957-1958, the Reference 2914-2.  In 1957, Omega released a trilogy of technical watches, built for different purposes/fields of work; they released the references CK 2913, CK 2914, and CK 2915, which correspond, in order, to the Seamaster 300, the Railmaster, and the Speedmaster.  The Railmaster was built and billed as an anti-magnetic watch, for use in professions in which magnetic fields could disrupt a wristwatch – such as scientists, engineers, etc.

This Omega Railmaster is in great vintage condition.  The case is unpolished, with sharp edges.  The dial is excellent, with only two small and light marks near the center of the dial above the hands, and overall in great shape.  The original radium lume is present on the dial, aged to a golden orange, with only slight lume loss in the 10 o’clock marker; the original broad-arrow hands have been professionally color-matched to the dial.
