Longines “Two-Tone 13ZN” Chronograph

SOLD

Description

Offered here is a stunning and rare Longines Chronograph, circa 1938 (as confirmed by Longines), powered by their legendary “Cal. 13ZN” movement.  The 13ZN pioneered the world’s first flyback function which allowed the wearer to reset the chronograph without first having to stop it, making it quicker and easier to time an event.  The present example is one of the most sought-after configurations of these chronographs, with a large, 37mm steel case, “Calatrava”-bezel, and two-tone dial featuring roman numerals and oversized registers.

This Longines 13ZN is in excellent vintage condition.  The case has been very lightly polished, retained almost all of its original definition, with thick and even lugs.  The dial is very well-preserved, with only light wear – 13ZN dials are notorious for aging very poorly, and it is extremely difficult to find them in good condition.
